She woke up with a start. The *ding* of the chat window did it, she guessed. She rubbed her eyes and looked at the time. Shit – 3 am. Last she remembered was googling her long lost friend Trixie (Trishala).
She looked at the new message in her chat window.
“Hi Vinny, Trixie here.”
WTF..how could she possibly know..?
She typed back – “hey..hi – was just..”
“I know – googling my name. *Giggle*”
“But how could you possibly..?”
“LOL…”
“No, tell me Trix – how? And how’ve you been? This is amazing” She fumbled for words.
“Am fine Vins, you tell me.”
“Where are you?” She typed and then realized the browser was still open where she was searching for her friend. Her hand went to close it, when she saw a link. She clicked on it.
“…among the dead are Trishala Mahadevan, Arjun Gandhi, Menaka Suvarna, Pritam Sarathy…”
The news article was dated about seven years back. With pictures.
Her fingers now wavering she looked back at the chat window expecting to see Trixie’s message.
Instead, she heard a voice from behind her - "Sigh, you found the link. Finally..."
