'hic'ory dickory doc

What is the correct remedy for a hiccup? Drink water, inhale deep, scare the person shitless so that the hiccup is dispelled like a bubble..or some such thing. Right? Well, so I tried that method with my daughter the other day. She went 'hic, hic, hic' for more than half an hour. So I and wifey waited for the right moment and then I went 'bow!' on my unsuspecting tot. And lo and behold. She was cured. But then I heard my wife from behind me - "hic". I guess I was a wee bit loud. Talk about blowing out fire with fire. Or starting it. Or..whatever.

Moving on to TV shows, the one show that really tickles my funnybone is this one on Pogo - Takeshi's castle. And it's not the weird antics of the gamers that get me; it's Javed Jaffrey's commentary, in his inimitable style. And the game itself is a non-stop nonsense for a half hour, offering full timepass. It's one helluva stress-buster. Go watch it.

We used to cure friends at our class 7th hostel this way: As soon as someone goes hic-hic, people used to sit in a circle around him waiting patiently (as a vulture waits for the cow to die), for his next hiccup. When that happens, everyone imitates him, and soon it becomes a hiccup-fest :) Now, the originator used to go mad by this time, and usually shout/scream/run after us, with his intermittent hiccups sending us into peals of laughter. Very soon, he had more things to trouble himself with than the hiccup (aiming the bottle of water perfectly and shouting and swearing, for example). Trust me, it was a sureshot cure ;)

ya takeshi's castle. jj, sometimes he does make me laugh, but have you ever seen anyone win the game? i have watched it now countless number of times but it always ends with iss bar bhi koi bijeta nahi..

my fav game btw is the one in which they wear this velcro suit, go swinging on a rope and try to get stuck splat on the wall at the other end :)..

aqua: yes I did..a guy did win it a couple of weeks back. But he's the only one so far.. yeah, the velcro thing is funny, but for me, the obstacle jumping on the fan-blade'ish feat is the funniest.

Takeshi castle ? Has it been modeled after some hongkong/japan/ china game show - where they do ridiculous stunts?

Hehehe aww so cute the hic i mean - i was thinking she cried non stop n u had to find a way to make her stop

visithra: yep, it's something like that, going by all the faces u see there...guess you can tell easily.

:) yeah...sometimes she does cry but there are other fixed methods of stopping that (ask my daughter) :)
